The COP26 conference in Glasgow in November 2021 is going to be a very important moment in tackling climate change. We are currently not on track to meet the goal of limiting global temperature rise to between 1.5 and 2 degrees above pre-industrial levels. According to the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, we need to halve total emissions by the end of 2030 if were to be on track to hit the 1.5 degree target and avoid the worst effects of a changing climate.
