Meet Jim, Citizen of the World

He was a figurehead for a new generation of playwrights. After he was stopped at Munich airport with a bag full of blank "world passports", he lectured bewildered German border police about the virtues of "world government". Born in Egypt, Adam was assigned female at birth but always knew he was a boy. Trapped in a deeply conservative society where falling in love with the wrong person can get you killed, he knew that he had to escape. With a borrowed laptop he typed in a question: "Can the soul of a man be trapped in the body of a woman?"

Rewind 1990s
1998 was the year the site for the new Scottish Parliament building was chosen. With the year 2000 getting closer it was also the year concern began to grow about something called the Millenium Bug. It was feared that in 2-years time when we moved from 1999 to 2000 computers around the world would not be able to cope and chaos would ensue.

Grand Tours of Scotlands Lochs
Leaving Kinlochleven - once known as the electric village because of its links to power-hungry aluminium smelting - Paul discovers a forgotten German PoW camp from WWI in the woods nearby. Taking an old military road out of the village, Paul climbs into the surrounding hills and arrives at the Blackwater dam - a colossal memorial in concrete to the last of the navvies. After visiting the graves of some who died during its construction, Paul treks across empty moorland to a lonely bothy.
